If you're going to sell, just cut, grind, paint. It's off. Not a big deal.

If you're taking a hit hard enough to bend the frame that's attached to the slider, a slight tweak is the least of your worries (and with a hit like that, the rocker damage won't be "little"). That's gotta be one HARD impact. I have never seen any hit that hard nor have I ever heard of the slider causing frame damage from being on there too solid.

Strength wise, there really is no difference. Plenty of vids will prove this. If you wanted to, you can make a "weak point" on any slider. But I don't know why you would nor anyone who has done this. Even with a bolt on, people tend to secure it as solidly as possible. This is a place where you don't want a weak spot.

I agree. Rock sliders should not be made to break away. They're there to get the sh!t kicked out of them so your truck's body doesn't have to.
 
And I'm just annoyed by the vibrations they cause. I'm never going to hit anything hard enough with them for what you guys are talking about to matter. :lookout: Not on purpose anyway, lol.

It just makes the engine seem rougher than it really is, especially during acceleration. Maybe I should just get used to it.
 
I think he's just talking about the vibration it causes, since it's attached to both frame and body (bad design, IMO).

Yep. NVH. It's what engineers try to avoid. Have the frame bolted directly to the body on both sides with solid hunks of metal is kind of like having solid motor mounts. If you've ever driven a car with solid motor mounts, you'll know what I mean.

And it's very much exaggerated during acceleration. Kind feels like theres something wrong with the engine or tranny.
