Have purchased a 1999 4WD Limited. Everything is great on the car however it seems to take a bit of effort for the a/c controls to respond to pressing them. Can you get a new "face-plate" for that unit or would you have to buy the whole control piece. I have no idea other than getting lucky at a junk yard in finding who who offer such a part. Any suggestions welcomed.

I assume it's called a "A/C Control Module".

Welcome to the club. You might get lucky at a junk yard, but not sure how much that would run you and who knows how well it would work or how long it would last. There's a guy on ebay that refurbs them: 1999 2000 2001 2002 Toyota 4 Runner 4Runner Digital Climate Control Repair Servi | eBay
He has good feedback, and I think I remember a couple other folks on here that have used him with success, but not sure if you could stand to be without it for a week or so. He says he has one or same day turnaround.

I think most refer to it as electronic climate control.
