First post from a 4Runner newbie

Hi All,

I'm somewhat interested in picking up a 4Runner. I really like the Sport Edition but like the Limited's interior better. I have just found out on another thread about the Urban Edition which sounds like trim between the first two.

I currently own a Audi A4 1.8T and have spent the last 5 years modding that car but I have just hit 140,000 and as much as I'd hate to, I think the time has come to get something new.

I need a bigger car but I'm concerned about gas mileage as I put in about 25-28k a year. On my A4 I usually get 350-390 out of a full tank (15-16 gal) and that lasts me about 4-5 days.

How many miles are you guys getting out of your 4x4 V6? and how big is the gas tank?

Another car that I'm considering is the B8 A4 avant which should be out by around October.

for me i have a 4x4 V6 and have been avg 21mpg on it. i do not drive as much as you so a tank of gas will usually last me about 2 weeks and i get around 350+ miles out of it.

My wife is averaging mid-to-high 17mpg on her brand new 4x4 6 cyl. I don't know how much of that is HFS. (Heavy foot syndrome)...

It's a 23 gallon tank.

I'm getting 19-20mpg as my running average. I've gotten as high as 23 and as low as 16 on my V6 4WD.

Wow 16.5mpg must be painful in the wallet.
90% of my driving consists of fwys, but here in LA that doesnt mean much since it's always a stop and go traffic.

As much as I like the 4Runner and especially it's price tag, I think I'm going to wait to see the newly designed A4 avant.
