First Time 4-wheeling

So I went 4-wheeling for the first time today. I took my 1993 T4R out and had some fun with it. I was very surprised at how well it performed with stock tires and stock suspension. I would really like to add some bigger tires and get a lift because I felt very limited with what I could do, but I'm not really sure where to start.

So I looked under the hood of my truck after 4-wheeling and now it looks like this. How do I go about cleaning this???

High pressure wash especially underneath but the under the hood job will take longer since you need to be careful where you spray.

It's a PITA and that's why I avoid extreme mud except for the rare occasion.

So should I cover the alternator, distributor cap, spark plugs, and fuse box...or do I not need to worry about that?

what i usually do is park it out in my field ... put my hose attachment onto mist or gentle shower and get it all good and damp. I then can "risnse" a majority off without going high pressure ... always make sure you get under any plastic "protectors" around the fenders and such ... get underneath the rig and get it all off the frame and axles and everywhere else ... open your doors and clean around there ... check up under/behind running boards, if you've got them ... get under and around bumpers and such ... go at it from every angle, even if that means you end up muddier than your rig began ... it prevents a ton of rust ... mud is THE enemy ... don't get me wrong, i love going mudding and offroading, but mud requires no skill ... heck, i've taken my taurus mudding ... and not just gravel road wussie mudding ... i'm talking actual muck and gluck and goopy mud ... and i didn't have to get towed out ... regardless of how you wheel, what you wheel in, or whatnot, make sure you get it dang clean SOON after ... don't wait a month to show off how cool your mud is ...

That pretty much covers it and avoid any high pressure on anything that water could get into.

Well this is my first post in a lont time.

It looks like your hitting what ever mud you are at a fairly high rate of speed. Thats fun for shallow stuff and what now but if you ever get in to deeper water crossings and mud holes remember slow and steady. I think after a few more trips though mud you'll start trying to avoid it. I know I have after haveing to spend about 400 bucks on new bearings and what not.
