First Time Buyer. 95 T4R 3.0 V6 3300 130k

Drove cross country in a buddies 87 toyota pickup and was looking into 1st gen 4runners cause i loved the ride.

However I will be driving mostly inner city Houston and hope this car takes me cross country a couple of times so I'm opting for a 2nd gen now.

Nothing on the market 2nd gen with 22re engines unfortunately .

I think the v-6 will have enough power for around town in houston and some California mountains.

Only concern on the 3.0 from my little research is head gasket. If hasn't been replaced yet should I expect head gasket to blow soon?

The car I'm looking at.... the engine looks clean. The guy who's selling it doesn't seem to know much at all about cars, but said he got oil changed and brakes done.

Any advice to a newbie? taking to mechanic tomorrow

I think pretty good deal, tire tread running down....might offer 2900 or 3000. Interior Fair, many stains. No spare

I think that's a little much for that condition. and it's kinda ambiguous as regards the complete condition.. could I suggest a 4WD??

Price sounds fair to me. The head gasket is not as big an issue as some make it. Maintain the engine. Keep the engine cool and fresh and you probably will not have an issue. I'd do it.
