First time off-roading in my 2016 SR5

I took my bone stock (well upgraded the wheels to TRD wheels, but stock Dueler HT tires) 2016 SR5 4x4 with 8,000 miles up to Uwharrie national forest and met with a couple of guys from a local 4Runner and off-road group. Everyone was impressed with how my stock 4Runner handled the trails. We did most of the moderate trails and even the difficult Dutch John trail. Though admittedly we went down the hill climb instead of up it. Here is a video of me doing a climb.

Got a pin stripe from a branch and scraped my skid plates a couple of times, but other than that unscathed.

Cheers on the stocker! Impressive what these things can do from the factory.

Yeah a couple people who saw it were also impressed that it was stock and doing the stuff I was doing. Not bragging, just I wouldn't have believed I could have made it if i didn't do it myself.

Once you get some good tires and try it again you will be really impressed!

just don't go when its wet on stock tires, they suck in mud and you get almost no directional control

Yeah I'm working on a plan to get rid of the running boards and get rock sliders. I think the RCI ones can have a step tread on top so that will work. Thanks.

Yeah for sure, wet will have to wait on new tires and at least sliders to protect if i do slip a little bit.
