First Time on Snow

Greetings all,

Just like to share my experience with ya all.

The first snow arrived late last Thursday night here in Chicago land and left 7.5

The 4Runner handles great in the snow. During the blizzard of '06, the plows left at least 3' of snow by my driveway. I drove right through it without spinning my tires. Did you stop off at unplowed parking lots to do donuts on the way to work? ;):
 
So you have a T4R that sits in your driveway while you drive a Galant and your wife drives her minvan?? I think there may be a few people around here that would love to drive it around on a regular basis for you!
 
I've been driving around in the snow no problem in my new 4runner and I completely agree.

Locked the center diff for some real fun in parking lots
 
Going out to dinner on a night that very heavy snow falls is the best. You will be waited on hand and foot because the place will be empty. Your food gets extra attention, the bar tender is thrilled he has a glass to fill. You get extra food and drink for free because your the only customer. They will have to throw away food because of the storm. So they give you a care package to take home.
Then the poor young sexy waitress tells you that her car is buried and she can't get home. What do you think happens next? No I don't get lucky, the wife pipes up and says aww that's too bad.
She only lives about 5 miles away, in the direction we are heading anyways. The wife tells me she can walk. Bet if she was ugly and fat the wife would have offered her a ride home. Welcome to the married world Thai.
 
I just drove mine around in snow this weekend of roads that were solid ice and i couldnt believe how well it held the road, much better than my subaru impreza used to have.

Double O 7 Runner (cool nick - by the way) you sure have good hands, but dangerious mind :D. With that .Nautical blue 07 model comming & that sweet talk you have, your Mrs. should worry :bugeye:

Mine is an older version. Yours, on the other hands, might make those, of whom you referred to, happier:headslap: ... Nah, j/k. The Odessy is on her way out to local dealer. We are going to get rid of her before the year ended.

The bottom line is, IMHO the 4Runny is worth every Yen I spent on:bowdown:

I went a parking lot with our bald dunflops, def fun when you sorta floor turn and spin plus donuts, sweet night. even on bald dunflops it still had good traction with the diff. locked, 4LO, went on those snow banks too. O yea. I ordered new Revos!!! YES!!!!! sorry I just had to celebrate for I am excited. Def gonna take vids and pics next time it snows alot. im pumped.
 
Going out to play in the snow is the best wheeling IMO. I have such a blast ! The snow was deep enough here I was draggin my undercarriage and still had no problem at all.
 
Got dumped on overnight with the nice white fluffy stuff. Our 1st big snowfall of the season and it's the deepest 24 hour fall in years. Backed out of the drive and out the subdivision 3' deep no problem! Deepest driving I've done in years (since getting caught in Flagstaff, AZ on a vacation.) The T4R works like a plow. Didn't have time to play. I'll try to get pics later before I start the cleanup. Wish I could have taped it for Koz's thread.
 
I was wondering if you snow drivers notice a big difference between driving with the center dif locked or un-locked?

Does it grip better in the snow when locked?
