Fitting In With The Import Guys

They make hoods that have two smaller scoops on them. Not saying I necessarily like them, but that would be another option.

meh, i dont want to make it look too ricy. heres my ideas. Put an opening under the head light where i circled, or cut a small hole, where the other circle is, in the hood. I've seen both way done on runners before. I dont think Im gonna do this until after I get my supercharger done though

I second you painting the front calipers and rear drums. But I'd say go with black for the drums. That's what I did and it made them look brand new and barely noticeable (much better than looking rusty)

I did see a write-up somewhere online, that a guy took plastic flex tube, i think about 1" dia. had 4 of them mounted to the hoodscoop, and ran them to the airbox, just in front of the filter, looked decent, cant remember if it helped any.

That mod simply won't work since the scoop doesn't really have enough air pressure going directly into it to force air into those small tubes;it was more wishful thinking and I've yet to see any proof opening the scoop has had any positive effect on performance vs closed.

I agree. The placement of the hood scoop forces you to have to make to many bends in the intake which is probably worse. The only "ram air" intake I've ever seen that might make a difference is between the bumper and the head light, but again how much of a difference is it going to make? If I can find someone to do it and the price is fair, I might try it to see if it makes and difference.
p.s. I am painting my timing belt cover and grille right now and its gonna look siiiiiiiiiiiiick:dancin: so everyone, check back soon I'll post pics. Just as a teaser, I'm hand painting a trd and 4runner logo on the timing cover and a trd logo on the grille, cause I cant find any friggin logo stickers ANYWHERE!!!

hand painting is a risky move player, and the only thing ram air is that effective (or is it affective) on is a scram jet, wiggidy wa word

I would have prolly printed off a TRD logo and made a stencil from jump, guess it's the engineer in me, doing anything free hand isn't the way to go

I wanted it to be unique and kinda pesonalized but after doing a couple trial runs on paper, I was like uh uh

Musical artistry does not translate to graphical artistry, huh. Still, I agree that personalizing our rigs leaves you feeling pretty good.

If I can find someone to do it and the price is fair, I might try it to see if it makes and difference.

YOU are the guy to do it. It would be way more fun, and you would have way more pride in it.
