Fix for mud flap noise

Hey, I found the threads on mud flaps coming loose thread, but did not see anything on how to fix them. At highway speeds, 70-75 mph, the flaps on my 04 Limited are making a loud noise as noted in other threads. Two of mine have even pulled the plastic retainer plug out of place which confirms what the noise is coming from. However, when I shove it back in the hole it just pops out.

I think I have the roof rack issue too but have not found anything loose yet, have to look closer once the weather warms up.

How do you keep them in place, or do you just go pay mega $$ to the dealer to put new plugs in?

Thanks in advance

Took mine off, no issues. Been a year and haven't been pulled over. Plus I live in California.

Are you saying that it's a ticketing offense to remove the mud flaps in California???

Absolutely. Especially if you have oversize tires that stick out. They'll ticket you for anything here. In a town near where I live they even have signs in parking lots that state if your truck is above a certain height and parked past a certain time you can be ticketed and/or towed. This is mostly due to the spoiled little kids or flat brimmers driving there super lifted trucks that never go offroad causing trouble. But yes...Commiefornia is THAT bad. Can't wait to get outta here.

It's practically illegal to do anything in California.

The laws so effin vague too... And whats funny is that a lot of GM trucks/SUVs, Jeeps, and a few others from the factory don't even come with mudflaps..
