Fixing chipping paint.

dude, i'll tell ya this... i had a big ass rock chip on my hood... went to toyota and they gave me the PAINT PEN for my color code... and it did not match at all.. i was so pissed....
my mom's boyfriend owns a company that works with car repair, dents espically.. and they have people that actually mix the paint of your car and inject it in the chip spot with a needle... like used in hospitals... it works awesome... look for somet hing that precise...

well, for one, yes, they are supposed to match... but word to the wise... when you use the pen directly onto the surface to be corrected on your truck... what happens if the paint comes out really fast.... your screwed.... so... wanna know how i figured this one out?????
not too happy when i spend 36G's on a new car.. and after a month, i have a rock chip from a cement truck on the highway and they clam no fault when i contact the company..... then when toyota claims that these pens are duplicate color pens.... it looks like bird crap on the spot....
when i used the pen, the paint came out so fast, it rans all over... luckily i had a towel to wipe it up and i had a friend buff the hood... but the paint did not match.... lesson learned, was, put the paint from the pen inside a plastic container and use something, like a toothpick to dab it on with....
a different occasion is when i found out about the inject paint with a needle thing to really get the amount of paint control...
expensive lesson learned...

I don't recommend the Titanium silver touchup paint from Toyota. My grandparents have a silver RAV4 and they ordered touch up paint with the same color code and everything. I went to touch up a spot and it was very dark. I ended up wiping it off and leaving the spot. It looked terrible.

Langka Paint Blob Remover
I recommend using this product called LANGKA (paint blob remover) along w/ the factory touch up paint for small DIY paint chip repairs. The end results are impressive!

I have also heard that the touch up paint from Toyota does not match. Here is a site I have read good things about. I have not used it personally but there site sounds like they really know what they are doing. You can get paint, primer, and clear coat from them.

Probably I'll get from dealer today or tomorrow if wont match (first i'll try on a nonvisible place) than i'll give a try http://www.paintscratch.com/.

The paint (with brush) costed me around 10 bucks from dealer. But no matter how good job you do the color and shade difference will be very visible.
The lesson learned, as long as its very small scratch like mine (and it has gotten to the mettal) go ahead and apply the paint otherwise leave it like that or take it to pro.
If anyone cares I can post the new pic after fix.

the titanium color has metal flakes in it. you must shake up the touch-up paint thoroughly and use enough so that the flakes get distributed evenly. if not, it will look darker than the original. i used LANGKA with toyota touch-up paint and got pretty good results.
