FJ Coils/FJ Bilstein vs OME & Superflex - Lift and Towing Question/ Comparison?

Looking to get start the upgrades on our 4R. We have an 05 V8 4x4. Budget is a factor, that said if it costs a little more to get it right the first time, that's also ok.

Here is what I'm considering...

Option 1: FJ coils with the FJ bilsteins up front, with the stock 4runner coils and Airlift 1000 in the back. Total this will cost me is about $200. (Already have the coils/shocks lined up.) Also should I add the FJ rear coils? If so what Airlift kit is needed? Can I get the Airlift kit that would be compatible w/ Superflex coils in case I upgrade later?

Option 2: OME coils (not sure which yet), plus the superflex coils in the rear. (not sure the cost, probably at least double)

I've researched the forums as much as possible, but here are a couple of questions for these specific options:

1. How much lift will both options provide?

2. How much lift will the superflex in the rear add?

3. Will the superflex eliminate the sag while towing or would I still need the airlift bags with the superflex coils?

We have a small single axle trailer we pull, about 4,500lbs. Currently stock setup, it sags like no other.

FJ coils up front will raise it 1in. the rear superflex will yield 2 in. lift , rear OME 1.5 or 2. rear fj coils will give about .5-1 in lift. also, i dont know if the airlft1000 have upgraded the design but 3 years ago i had them on my 4r & besides leaking,(clamps rust & weaken) the design was poor, (tubing went through the bottom) parts including the airline tubing was poor. resently switched to new rear fj coils (1 in. lift + better than stock 4r coils) & the firestone bags, WAY better! stronger tubing, push connections & the airline comes through the top instead, you may want to check em out.

What part number did you use for the firestone kit? Did the 4runer part work with the FJ coils? Or would it be better to get the FJ firestone kit?

went with the 4runner firestone bags, work fine with the fj coils. in case u go with the superflex or OME for 2 in. lift, u may need to get longer bags, airlift 1000 - Toyota 120 Platforms Forum this will also show how the old stlye airlift1000 are installed, but like i said, maybe they have changed or upgraded the system now. if you just want/need something for overload support i hear timbrens are good but will cost more. http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3075

I also went with the Firestone, but only because I saw from there pictures that they used stainless steel valves and push connectors on the bags. I don't find that many people using the Firestone's, though, so it was difficult to find a review on them. From your post, Now I'm kinda glad I went with them. I did have an Airlift on another vehicle that didn't have any issues. But I do know what you mean that the Airlifts come with cheap hoses (I didn't use that hose, I got some better hoses from work) and that plastic barbed connecter on the bag. If you looked at the end of the hose you can see the thickness varied throughout the hose and it felt kinda weak/soft.

Both companies do have lifetime warranty on just the bags.
