FJ rack on 4th Gen

I searched the threads but couldn't find any pics of my one that's done this ...I found this site ... would this rack work on our rides? Love this rack much more tha. The ones on our SE ..

Some of the 2006+ Sport Editions had a tubular roof rack. That may have been what you saw.

Hmm stand corrected ! However I've seen they do not bolt up to our mounts so (I think) you would have to do some drillin' . I also like this rack but looked into it & from some earlier post/sticky threads it was a no go .

It won't bolt-on without modification. I considered it a long time ago and decided against it due to the need to modify the mounting points.

Yeah, it looks too short, and there are much better options on the market.

Is there any roof racks out there that would install directly to stock mounting points? I don't like the look of a rack mounted to the stock rack.

Thankyou Admiral! Is there any place that sells mounting brackets for racks that attach to the stock rack? There is a rack I am looking at that only comes with brackets to attach to the OEM rack. Thanks

Not sure I understand your question. OEM = Stock

It basically attaches to the stock 4runner roof rack. I want to remove that and use a certain rack using the stock mounting locations. I am wondering if some one knows of a company that makes brackets to attach any rack to a 4runner or a way for me to make brackets from materials that I could buy at a hardware store like home Depot
