FJ rear sway bar - Does it work?

About 3 months ago, I was under the 4runner doing some checks and maintenance after a wheeling trip and noticed that my rear sway bar was snapped in half. I have no idea when it happened or how long it was like that but anyway. I have been driving with it removed.

My buddy with a 2013 FJ removed both of his after doing a complete suspension overhaul. I was hoping to reinstall the FJ rear sway bar on my 4runner which looks almost exactly the same, maybe slightly heavier and thicker then oem.

Anybody know if this works for sure before I start this?

EDIT: FJ CRUISER REAR SWAY BAR DOES WORK

I snapped mine as well, set it side by side to my brother's intact 2007 FJ sway bar and it looks identical. The 2010+ FJ's have a different rear diff but I would guess the sway bar is the same.

Yeah, i layed it next to my broken one.. It was thicker metal but the shape and size were about the same.. maybe slightly more room near the diff but negligible to affect anything. I guess ill be trying this on this weekend and ill report back.

FJ rear diff is a hair larger. (8.5"? instead of 8" on the 4R) Otherwise they should be the same since the width and all the axle mounts match

The 2007-2009 FJ rear diffs are identical to ours but with an elocker.

The 2010+ FJ rear diffs are called an 8.2" differential, I would guess most if not all their differences are internal, so it wouldn't matter what sway bar you used. If anything the larger sway bar should more easily bend around our potentially smaller 3rd member housing.

Installed and it does fit and work as intended! I forgot what its like to have a normal handling truck after running no sways for a few months. I will probably disconnect it before I go wheeling again
