I can get a good deal on new FJ Cruiser takeoff wheels and tires at our local dealer. Has anyone seen them on a 4th gen? I did not know if they would look funny or not.

In my somewhat biased opinion, they look fantastic. I get compliments on them all the time. See this thread for more details and photos.

I think they look cool !!!!

Are they the same width as the 4R wheels ?

Dimensions of the wheels are the same, with the exception of offset. The FJ wheels have a 15mm offset, as compared to the 30mm offset on the stock 4Runner wheels. This means roughly 1.2 inch increase in track width.

So does this mean they actually stick out further than the stock 17" 4R wheels ? I wounder if that would cause rubbing on a stock truck tith 265/70's.

Excuse my ignorance on this since the offset stuff gets a little confusing to me.

Yes, they stick out about a half inch more than stock.

I did not use these wheels with stock size tires. However, with the larger, 265/75/17 tires, there was a VERY slight rub on the fender liner from the driver's side tire. Once lifted, there was no rub.

I really doubt they would rub at all with stock tires, even with no lift.

4th Gen w/FJ wheels

I have a 05, SR5 2wd, with FJ Cruiser TRD wheels and the tracking, handling, steering feels unstable, I've had it aligned twice and it still doesnt feel centered, i have new struts and rear shocks, installed and it sometimes pulls left, sometimes right, just feels a bit squirrely
Tires 265/65/17

Any advice or suggestions would be gladly appreciated

Did they happen to provide the alignment numbers? Not all shops are created equal.
