FJC springs + cornfed 1" front spacers + spidertrax installed

i installed them by myself, followed the instructions posted in t4r and 120. The install went ok...hit a few problems here and there. If you have a friend to help with the install it'd be alot easier. All I have to say is that xreas is a pain in the butt.

I didn't measure it, but according to my search the springs should give me a 3/4" lift in the front and 1/2" in the rear. So with the spacers i got 1.75" in the front total.

I'll have to take a daytime photo...it's seems higher in person tho.

Nice Ed. I've got a white '08 that I've been considering doing all three of those to. I've seen a lot of folks talk about the FJ stuff and say how easy it is to come by- where did you get yours?

Did the ride change at all?

I can't tell from the pics- did you do all three at the same time?

How long did it (all?) take you?

Plans to do anything different with the wheels/tires?

Again, looks good! Get those daytime pics up!

imo i think the ride got firmer, which is a good thing. The stock springs are too soft.

yes...all at the same time. I need to take some pics but i might have to wait since i don't drive to work.

it took me awhile for the fronts since it was my first time. If i have to do it again it'll take me about 3 hours for the fronts. The rears took me 1.5 hours...very easy. Make sure you have an impact for the install. That saved me a crap load of time! I have a cheap impact from pepboys...works fine.

well i have BS revo 2 265/70/17 now...just got them a couple months ago.

oh and i got mine from Toyota FJ Cruiser Community as well. These are actually off of a 2008 FJC Trail Team with 8000 miles on them, but all FJC springs are the same. Got the front and rear for $55 shipped.
 
Looks good! :bigok: I am amazed how many do this upgrade and are happy with it. You'd think Toyota would would have sprung it this way from day 1. I swear they drive smoother/better above 20mph or so. I love stopping without as much nosedive. The springs make it handle better and finally it just looks cooler:D

yea it should be this way from the factory. Now i need to get the car aligned and aim the headlights lower.

so your 4R is a 2006, what year springs did you get off of the FJC?
I have an 04 4R and would like to get some fj springs too

Thanks guys! FJ Forums isn't a site I'm familiar with but I'm definitely going to check it out- $55 shipped sounds like a steal.

ARK- Did you do yours yourself too?

Ed- I would definitely consider myself mechanically inclined and probably have all of the tools to do this, but how would you rate it 1 - 10 on difficulty/patience/time/etc?

I've got my parts in, but haven't had time to do the install. I am however planning on doing it myself. There are a ton of writeups online that give great details, so although I'm not familiar with it I believe I can do it.
 
Sweet. I just got registered on FJ Forum and put up a WTB for front and rear springs.

Now don't anyone set me ablaze 'cause I used the search function and got about as far as anyone ever does with it. BUT, I'm looking for links to threads or web pages for install instructions doing exactly what Ed here did.

i have an 06 and the springs were from a 2008 FJC with 8000 miles on them.

I found that the instructions from toyota120.com were very clear. The rears i rated them a 3 and fronts a 7. Definitely try to do it yourself.

I totally agree with Chris, this thread and it's included references has single handedly encouraged me to take on these projects with confidence.

Looks great! I like the 2nd daylight photo. Your ride looks sweet! I love my Salsa when it's clean and swirl free but you can't beat white. It photographs well even when it's dirty!
 
Forgot to mention, I had to trim the front bumper a little and move the fender liner forward. The wheels still rubbed a little bit in reverse at full lock, but not too bad. I followed the instructions from JA's site...very helpful.
