4Runner, your friend with the truck will have a blast even with 2WD - this place is a lot of fun. With the rear locker he should be fine, although some of the hills will be challenging, especially if they're wet.

Im tring my best to be able to make it, I am having a few minor problems with my runner right now so im tring to get them fixed before i go wheeling again. Maybe if i go Six can ride with me.

Its the mud that is kicking me.. I really am NOT a fan of water / mud holes a little mud tossing is fine but submerging into it is NOT my thing. But it does look like I will be getting a 3 day weekend for the 9 10 11 being the days. So anyone with more personal experience on the terrain wish to chime in... it will make my decision.

there is actually very little mud there, it was just really muddy last time we went because it was during a tropical depression/storm. there arent any deep mud holes or deep water crossings, just minor stuff. the majority is technical i.e. articulation....

i hate mud and deep water also, and i wont do it for fun, just to get past it and on to the next thing

I think we're gonna have great weather - I just checked weather.com and it's predicting Partly Cloudy with high of 80 and only a 20% chance of rain. Much better then last time I went

Things around here are very dry right now and I expect much the same out at the park. Last time I went the only mud was in the hole at one spot. The rest was completely dry. With no chance of rain all week I would think it will be pretty dry out there.

Btw, I'm around 60% right now...

And if I go, I won't be going in any of the really hard stuff either. Just some hill climbing and decending. So if anyone else isn't looking to tear their rig up they won't be alone. Good thing about the park is that if you don't feel like doing something there are plenty of places to park, walk, and watch.

For those that have been to Hardrock before (Kyle, etc.), I ran into a guy from Texas at MMI who has a new-style (not sure exact year but like '06 or something) Tacoma. I talked to him shortly about the trip and he sounded like he might have some interest. I told him I had never been before but that I heard it was pretty technical. My question is, his truck is 2WD but he has the rear locker and A/Ts. Would he have a good time going, or would his truck be sitting most of the time? I'd feel bad bringing him all the way out there just for him to end up ridin' w/ me or something.... Thanks guys and looking forward to the trip....

I think he'd be able to do a lot of hills and some of the trails but there is a lot out there that no 2wd could get up. And the funny thing about some of the trails is you'll be rolling around all bored and quiet on a trail and you come around a corner and there's a 200' steep hill in front of you.

There are some bypasses though and a lot of it you can go around.

As for if it's worth his time, I'd have to ask him what his time is worth.

could you be alil more specific on this gas station? I've never been before so not really sure where I'm going. As for my buddy, I think he is going to bring his truck (so that makes 4 vehicles) but if he doesn't he still will ride with me...

Here's directions from the HardRock website:

Hardrock Cycle Park is located at the north end of Ocala on C-25A, 3/4 mile south off SR326 (Exit 358 from I-75).

So I think the gas station Kyle is referring to is on the south east corner of the intersection of I-75 and SR326, not sure which brand gas station it is though. Assuming I get there on time then I'll stick around at the gas station til maybe 12:15 but if no one shows up by then then I'm jsut gonna go to the park and we'll probably run into each other there.

Oh that place. I use to go mountain biking there when they had the bike trails there. Man I really wish I could be going with all of you today but the tire/wheel thing as previously posted, and now the cracked thermostat housing have made it so I won't be going. When is the next run? Also please guys and gals take some videos or pics so us lame'os can enjoy too. lol Have fun and be safe
