Flagpole Knob Video

Okay guys. I finally got around to making that video. I don't know if anyone will care much about the first half of the video, but around the 5 minute mark there is a lot of trail stuff.

I tried to reference some things to make it easier to use as a basic guide in the future for others.

If you notice once you get to Flagpole Knob at the top the lake you see down in the bottom is the lake right next to the beginning of the trail I think. Pretty cool.

Nice video!

My favorite parts:

- Whoa, his wife is tall! Pretty hair, though. . . . oh.
- Get to the top, let the dogs out, but kid stays imprisoned, lol. . . . oh.
- Cool mount with remote swivel, what is it?

Hahahhahaha. I was using an old tripod I bungie corded to my cooler rack. I didn't have the GoPro window mount at that time.

Hahaha! I see; the old manual swivel. I thought you panned it remotely on that one shot at the small dam (or spillover or whatever).
 
Dang, I'm worried about installing lights on my GOBI rack with I get it and you think I have a electric camera swivel on my cooler rack. I am way less cool than that. :fro:
 
Looks like you went up switzer/dunklehollow way. Got to do union springs!

You missed all the fun stuff!!

Really? So the other way in is a lot more challenging? Yea, I went by the lake. It was a pretty easy drive. Just a little work. I would love to do a more challenging section. Where do you enter?

That is the run right there. If you go from the shell on Rt. 33 to Union Springs Lake then it takes about 15 20 minutes to get there from Shell

Cool. I could possibly go this weekend. But how much harder is that section of the trail? The other section was pretty easy.

damn kitty I didnt see you respond. it isnt terrible, I go stock to run it. you can make it as techinical as you want if you want to go soon let me know!
 
Sounds good. I would like to drag the camper (pop-up) to the section after the lake. It would be a little sketchy, but not too bad. Then spend the day tinkering with the trails. I will try to post here when it happens.
 
Nice video, but the Union Springs route is way funner to drive and I drove it in stock form. I also have some photos of our last run on my instagram, @01100101. :D

I'd be up for another FP run in October.
 
I like that first picture. And I had no idea what I was doing when I went, but I clearly when the easy way. Good thing though 'cause my wife... I mean my buddy with me (hahah) was getting a little motion sickness. He got injury a few years ago and has had a little trouble with motion since then. I'm sold on trying the other route though.

You can drag the pop up quite far up the Union spring route if you realllllly wanted to. The union spring lake would be the last stop really to drop it off at while you go play but it would take you a few hours to get back down the trail to get to it for camping when your done. Dragging it back up to switzer lake is probably the way to go on camping with it
 
KittyHawk where were you guys car camping in the beginning of this vid? Was it close to the trail?

It's way more interesting! Though you may have some approach issues with that rack on the front.
