floor mat recommendation?

I had previously been using the cloth Toyota mats, but I think I'd like to switch to comething plastic for my 2004 Limited. We went to AUtozone today and a couple that they had didn't fit real well, especially in the drivers side because of that plastic box by the pedal.

While I'd like the custom fit Weathertech or Husky, I'm not sure I want to drop that much ($150??) on a set of front and rear mats.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a set that you found fit real well?

I have put Weathertech Fitted mats in every vehicle I have owned for the last 15 years, about 5 sets. Will buy them again. They really do save your carpet

I personally like the weather techs over the OEM looking ones. I like how they are like giant bowls and dont let anything run out.

thanks for the thoughts guys. I'm just looking for something to get me by the next year or two. I think if this was a brand new truck, I might spring for the Weathertech or Husky direct fit ones. But I think those Toyota OEM All Weather ones might just be the ticket. Going to see if they have them in tan, but I might see how the black work out.

Just FYI, the Weathertech are only about $20 more then those OEM ones posted,or even the same price if you get them on Amazon.

You can get the OEM rubbers for like 70-80 bucks. And they are money.

I have brand new OEM carpet i purchased. But I was too anal with the dirt. These look awesome and do the job and I don't have to worry about the dirt stains now.

The OEM all weather mats do not last. I had a set and the driver side didn't last a year before it got a hole in it.

Hmm ... my experience was different ... put the Toyota OEM all-weather floor mats in my 03 (when I bought it used in 2008) and they held up for 8 years ... I took them out when I traded in my 03 for my 2011 two months ago, cleaned them up, and sold them to a fellow T4R.ORG member.

Maybe a difference in quality between U.S. and Canadian mats?!

Here is an example of what ours look like.

Yeah, those are different. The ones i had were the ones that had "4RUNNER" down the sides of the front mats

Yeah, interesting, all of the ones I've seen have the 4Runner in white lettering, too.

I found them on Amazon, too, for around $77 shipped. Some of the reviews do mention that they are a little thin, but most seem to be happy with them. I'll try them now and then I'll know better for when I get the 6th Gen 4Runner (hopefully next year).
