So much ignorance from the left. The party of emotion and knee jerk reaction, no logical thinking what so ever. Dam its getting old.

Turn off CNN ok? And stop regurgitating their talking points. Think for yourself and worry about things you can control in your life. I mean really? Guess what...HE is your president!

Won’t stop all but will stop some.......and I’ll take that. There’s no perfect solution but some progress is long long overdue. If gun sales to sane, qualified, reasonable people happens then fine......give each of them all 1000 guns for all I care........so long as they own them safely and are subjected to some inconvenience via a check mechanism of some sort on a fairly regular basis. But there’s too many paranoid fools out there who feel that the more that’s known about them then the more likely some governing body will get closer and closer to taking their beloved guns away. Preposterous.

You suggest doing nothing?

Your ideas of "progress" are antithetical to a free society. It's the very reason why the Bill of Rights was written and necessary to begin the journey of this Constitutional Republic.

Rights are sacred. All of them. Would you allow the same standards you are requesting to see applied to the 2nd amendment be applied to the entire Bill of Rights?

I'll give you examples of applying this type of logic you've been positing to our other Rights:

It's a different time, television and the internet didn't exist when the constitution was created, the founding fathers couldn't have fathomed there inception or how easily people could share ideals and communicate- so let's deny the 1st amendment rights of the citizens; for "progress" and "safety". Just aminor intrusion and inconvenience.

After all, every murder no matter what object or method used was born from the ideas of man. Wether religious, political or otherwise.

Isn't it time we "progress" and limit the way in which people communicate and think in general? So many evil acts have been inspired by the ideals of man- it's just common sense that we restrict them. For our "safety". Doing "Something" is better than doing nothing, you have nothing to hide if you are innocent, it's just a small intrusion...

Why even have a 4th amendment if you allow the police to inspect your property at random they can make sure you aren't up to no good- right? If you've got nothing to hide it's just a small intrusion and minor inconvenience to search you and take your property without due process of law. It's for "safety" and for "progress".

I mean by the logic posited by the anti rights crowd- that's where we could really stop people from committing crimes- randomly search and interrogate as many people as we possibly can every day and that would "progress" us to "safety"- right?

Outlaw as many things as you possibly can for "progress" and "safety". Screw it right- just a minor intrusion and inconvenience, if you have common sense and nothing to hide- why not?

No one "needs" anything other than food, water and shleter anyways. Ban it all!

Voting- um, yeah. That shit is dangerous; I mean most if not all of the anti gun/rights crowd can see the need for these "common sense" restrictions on voting, just look who got elected- DONALD TRUMP!

Along the same logic let's allow another inconvenience- IQ tests, drug tests and background checks to vote.

Come on guys! It's for "safety". I mean most of you have stated that Trump's dangerous tweets make you concerned for your safety.

Man don't even bother with trying to explain the Bill of Rights to a progressive left winger. They have probably never even read the Bill of Rights. I mean they can't even understand or fathom the Electoral College let alone the Bill of Rights. :blah:

The FBI would like to apologize for not following up on the pre-shooting tips they received about this guy.. They've been a little bit pre occupied with investigating fake Russians and tapping trumps associates.

Still think Russia story is fake after Fridays indictments?

Not trolling I swear :) lol

Washington Post - Trump’s Russia ‘hoax’ turns out to be real

Trump’s own Justice Department has concluded otherwise. A 37-page federal indictment released Friday afternoon spells out in exhaustive detail a three-year Russian plot to disrupt America’s democracy and boost Trump’s campaign, dealing a fatal blow to one of the president’s favorite talking points.

Inconvenience. Reregistering your arms and background checks with local law enforcement every 2-3 years or so.

Mandatory gun registration and backgrounds checks wouldn't have stopped any of the mass shooters from the last several years including both Florida incidents. In each case the guns were either obtained legally by non-felons or illegally or via friends & relatives.

Now you certainly could make an argument that a moral values test on immigration would have prevented the series of events that led to San Bernardino (and Paris and Nice in France) happening (the wife was a hardcore Sharia Saudi national, non US citizen) but that would go against the liberal line of thinking I come across often here in California.

There will never be 100% gun control. We can completely ban guns but they will still be on the streets and in the hands of any truly desired person. So there's no stopping guns but preventing is a completely different story. Most schools only have 1 officer on campus (mostly there to break up fights and stop kids from skipping) I would think possibly training teachers who are willing to learn and/or giving some jobs to veterans who are capable. Those guys put their life on the life defending our country and I'm damn sure they will put their life on the line defending children.

My daughter was in High school when Sandy Hook took place. 3 weeks after it happened the school sent a letter stating that there were numerous teachers that were CHL holders and would have their firearms on premises. They would be attending additional training on active shooters and safety. Nobody knew which teachers had them or where they were kept. Small town Texas. Don’t remember there being any kinda backlash from parent either. It’s a shame that we as a country have come to this but I feel that with the new age of technology and the introduction of the WWW people don’t need the news anymore to be “famous”, “infamous” or such. Each can live a life of being whom ever they dream up in the head and have likes and followers that will fuel the fire or actually convince them that they are that ARE that make believe person. Don’t get me wrong I love the ability to jump not this little piece of glass and communicate with anyone, anytime anywhere but I also feel that it can be dangerous at the same time. The days of meet me after school and a good ol fist fight settling the score are over. Even back when I was in school we carried our rifles and shotguns in the back window and it never crossed our minds to use them in a fight, just bloody knuckles and usually a new friend shortly afterwards.
Welcome to political correctness along with participation trophies and people that can’t cope with reality because it’s outside of the realm of their imaginary world. Sorry for the rant...

Understood but I’m just pointing out on a high level some additional control mechanism(s) that make sense. Anything, even if 50% effective, is better than nothing.

If your referring to the society that shoots school children every few weeks, then yes........if being less “free” helps then you’ll need to be less sensitive and get over it.

Can’t say I like being checked before I get on a plane every week, but it’s necessary and happy to be subjected to it if it prevents even one event.

Guess you don’t fly......or go to events and have your bags checked?.........or do you whip out your Bill of Rights and they just let you through?

I wish his supporters would both read and comprehend all 37 pages.

All the while Trump still hasn’t implemented new sanctions (dereliction of duty) and has done F all to do anything about it happening in the future. Don the con.

Do you really think that because some guy from Russia bought a fake jail cell to put a fake Hillary Clinton in during a rally that the election results were changed? Did you expect Trump to roll out legislation the day after the evidence was released?

Private businesses can operate how they like and so can choose to utilize them or not.

That's not the same thing as being an advocate for our Federal government to legislate away our rights.

Can you understand that?

Your argument is patently false. Tying evil men shooting children to freedom? That's not freedom, it's madness. People murdering others aren't champions of freedom, they are oppressive and evil and taking away freedom from others.

You obviously don't "get it" when it comes to what Rights are and what individual freedom is in the first place.

By the way, this place you seek to turn America into already exists- it's pretty much the rest of the world. The rest of the world restrict guns to an incredible degree and it does NOTHING to stop people from being murdered, be it one at a time or 80 at a time. All it does it turn everyone who follows laws into soft targets with little to no chance of defending themselves from evil men.

There is no right to fly. Get it? It isn't one of your rights.

I would argue that if the Constitution was remade today they never would have included a right to bear arms. It would be treated more like a driver's license handled by either federal or state laws.

As for those who believe the second amendment should be revised limited or removed .... well there is a process for that as well, it's called amending the Constitution.

If you think you can get the public to do it then go and try to find the votes. The process is extremely difficult for a reason but it is a very real path.

Still last I heard ownership of handguns is broadly supported when polling at a national level and handguns are what does most of the killing. These mass shootings are very small percent of total deaths.

A lot of liberals and in general anti gun folks are also the same ones who point out that Americans are statistically extremely unlikely to be killed in a terror attack as if that should make us feel safer. Well hey friends you are extremely unlikely, statistically speaking to be shot in a mass shooting. Food poisoning or a traffic accident are far more likely to get you than a mass shooting. Feel better now?

Meet you in the middle:

1) the Russians really did attack our elections and try to sway public opinion in the election. We need to enact protections before the next election.

2) the Democrats lost for a lot of reasons mostly because of bad candidate, bad message, badly executed campaign. Hillary finally visited Wisconsin -- on her book tour.

Fair points. I also think you’re right that more gun control may not have prevented the last shootings, but gun control may have limited the number of deaths and injured. The far right crowd here only addresses the far left crowd of taking away all guns. There’s a middle ground that gets ignored.

Personally, I’m tired of seeing kids having to get buried. If the far right wants to keep their AR’s, then we need to offer solution besides, thoughts and prayers and arguing why guns aren’t a problem. You’re not being novel or clever and sure as shitnnever going to convince anybody on really old regurgitated ideas and Facebook memes.

Ironically, I saw a meme today that called for the arming of all teachers, and the response was “ you bastards won’t even buy them pencils and printer ink but now you’ve got the budget for glocks” which is painfully true. Arming school teachers is the stupidest ****ing thing I’ve heard, beside grandpa’s wooden rifle outdoing 800 hurt an 60 killed in Vegas. Addressing mental illness though, isn’t. But it’s not easy. And you have to acknowledge that the president made it easier for the mentally ill to guy guns by pulling some recent gun legislation.

Something I see after every school shooting is the dems won’t even wait for the bodies to be cold before asking for gun control, when the right does the same thing over immigration and anything Islam related. I’m not changing the subject here. I’m fine with talking about any subject and looking at the merit of both sides. But pretending we don’t have a problem, and thinking that’s the solution, is not right.

Book tour....soooo sad

She did more on the book tour than the election. There needs to be a middle, that was lost under Obama and it is only getting worse. Family, religion, respect and the want and need to work has been lost. We have become a society of "whats in it for me" I can't see things changing anytime soon. We have become bitter and disrespectful....read the thread, perfect example. Insults fly when a conversation would be better.

If it were fake you could prove it.

I’ll wait.

Lets see
- an unverifiable deleted 2nd instagram account
vs
- clear undeniable voting records showing he was a registered democrat.

put that critical thinking to use bruh, authentic account - no maga hats... 2nd fake account - nothing but maga hats.
