I'm looking to do a Flowmaster 40 series muffler with the stock exhaust on my 02 Toyota 4runner sr5 I was wondering if anybody could tell me what diameter in and out the Flowmaster pipe needs to be I know that it is a center in center out but I need to know the diameter of the pipe
Ok so when I order the muffler I need to buy the one that says center in 2.25 offset out 2.25?Mine is a 96 and the pipe was 2 1/4", probably still the same in 02 but maybe someone else can chime in.
I love flowmasters but the 40 series has some nasty drone at cruising speeds, it might not bother you but after years of listening to it in different vehicles I am over it and go with a 50 series if it's a flowmaster.
I'm aware that I'll need to buy an extension and I plan on cutting the old muffler out at the muffler on both sides and then slipping the muffler over the exsisting pipe on one side and exhaust clamping it and then adding the extension to the other side and clamping it then clamping he extension to the other half of the piping that goes over the rear axle unroll I can have it weldedThat's what I have but you do realize that it's a lot shorter in overall length and you will need to adapt it to your stock exhaust right? It doesn't just bolt up. The stock muffler is a monster compared to a flowmaster or other similar performance brand mufflers on the market.
