Just remember if you're just replacing the OE muffler, you want a center in / offset out design so that factors into which part no. you order.
The 50 series Flowmaster in this config is 52557, not sure of the 40 series, you can look it up online though.
The quieter 70 series is the 52572, but this is too quiet for your taste.
To follow up on my Dynomax info....
The quietest super turbo is the longest one, part number 17748. The shell is 20" long so it has quite the deadening to it. Here is a sound clip (the after clip) that a Tacoma guy did...
Dynomax Super Turbo Flow Muffler (17748) - YotaTech Forums
I think thats too quiet for you.
The shorter one is louder, haven't found a sound clip of it but the part no. is 17733. It's only 14" shell so it doesn't have the deadening ability. Super Turbos flow well and can be had on the cheap if price is a sticking point for you. I'd say that this muffler is probably on par with the 50 series flowmaster volume wise.
Also, if you go the Dynomax route, remember this.....they're packed with fiberglass matting for deadening ability. This stuff will wear out over time/mileage and the volume will continue to increase as the muffler gets older.
