hey tks! i just aim my up and it look 10x better!!! now you can actually see the fog at night in front of you!!

All of the bolts in our truck (in my experience) has been between a 8mm and 14mm. I think that the aiming bolt is a 8mm, but it has been a while since I did this. It is just a bolt, so no special tools are required.

I live in an area of California that gets so foggy sometimes, you can barely see the end of your hood, and your door is open so you can follow the yellow dashed line. One time I opened my drivers door and saw a solid WHITE LINE. My heart about stopped as I knew I was on the wrong side of the country road!
I honestly have never thought fog lights really helped much. Perhaps a 5%-10% increase but what kind of increase in visibility are you going to need to avoid wrecking? A lot more than 10% I'm sure. Sure, maybe the 10% will allow you to drive faster which means you'll get home about 20 seconds earlier than normal?

Ended up with 3 complete turns of the wheel to get the right aim point... :biggrin2: wow what a difference. Highly recommend doing this. Lo's and Fogs used to be separated on the road in front.. now its one solid wide path of light.
Also did the mode to Fog Relay to make them work with the parking lights, lo's and hi beams... but still allow the factory switch to control on/off on the stalk. Looks great at night now. Thanks guys.

JA's method can be changed so that the fogs will come on a.) any time car is cranked b.) only when parking/head lights are on or c.) any combination with the fog light switch on the stalk with either a or b. Just a matter of where you hook the fog relay power on the pin. It really is easy just take plenty of time to decide which way you want them to work before you start and its straight forward. check it out.

Allegro.. that is exactly what my setup did. I connected the power on for the relay to the driver side parking light.. ie anytime my parking lights are on, my fogs can be on also. By hooking the wires underneath the steering wheel that go to the stalk also, you are able to keep control of the fogs by the switch on the stalk. Using this method my fogs relay is always controlled by the parking lights (so they still turn off when the key does), but I can run 1.) only fogs and parking lights or 2.) I can run fogs and parking/low beams (OEM setup) or 3.) I can run fogs and parking/high beams together (for those dark roads at night).

Only modification I made to JA's solution was in the relay power on pin 2 of the fog relay. JA pulled power for the fog relay from an "always on" source in the relay/fuse box (truck is on, fogs work all the time). I ran the wire from pin 2 of the relay out to the drivers side running light with a T-connector (so that only when the running lights are on, power is sent to the fog relay and fogs can only come on when running lights are on, which are on all the time with any other combination of hi/low/off headlights). I followed the same procedure for the C-12 connector in JA's write up on the stalk. He already has a good write up so give it a good read thru and it has plenty of pictures and wiring diagrams to.
this is the thread I started reading when I modded mine. I may even be the last poster in the thread. JA's solution is pretty much the entire thing but others have changed it slightly and offer options. Just make sure how you want them to work and make it happen.

Well I have to agree with just about everything on this thread. You need to raise you Fogs quite a bit to make them more effictive, and EVERYONE should do both mods for keeping the fogs on.
The only change I made in Mod 1, was that I got my power for the fogs from the parking light bulb harness (green wire). I still used the #2 pin from the Fog Relay, but made an 18" jumper that ran behind the battery and to the drivers park light harness. What this does is have the lights come on ONLY when the light switch is in the Park or Headlight position. This is different than getting Fog power whenever the ignition is on. Still have control of the Fogs on the stalk, same as OE.
I wasn't too crazy about completing Mod 2, but decided to try it as I could always remove the spice. I do like it much more than I first thought. You get both Hi and Lo beams, plus the Fogs when on bright (all lights are on!). Very full light pattern from close to far.

The picture suggests that these work the same way as the headlights. If you slide a Phillips screwdriver in sideways through the channel in the housing, the teeth in the driver will engage the teeth in the aiming gear. I don't have the stock fogs, but this technique works great on the headlights which are built the same way.

you can also use a phillips to adjust. I know it sounds funny but there is a groove that allows you to fit a #2 head phillips in there and turn. Same goes for the headlights, at least on my corolla.
as for the foglight control on the stick I have it on my corolla as well. My fogs are independently controlled on the stick and can be on or off with the highbeams.
