Fog light help.

So, my drivers side fog light is out, I've eliminated the possibility of bulb, or fuse being bad, and the unit is getting power. Without seeing it does anybody have any idea what it might be? Thanks.

You have tested it at the bulb socket and its getting power? How could it be anything but the bulb unless the bulb is getting the proper connection.

good bulb, good 12V, then it would have to be:

a ground issue

connector issue

or the bulb really isn't good. How did you verify it was good?

Hmmmmm. I looked at the bulb and the filament was in-tact so I assumed it was good. I tested the volts at the connector.

If there is power the the bulb, and it's not lighting up, the bulb is bad my friend. Even if the filament is in-tact, it's bad.

Try swapping the bulb on the other side that works. Gotta be a bad connection to the bulb or a bad bulb is there is 12v at the socket.

Haha, your fine, Go Ducks! I think the bulb is funky, I was just testing it at the bulb,(it's freezing outside!) when I poked inside it with the tester and boom! The fog light turned on. So its fine, for now...

Easy way to test that for future reference. Just ohm out the bulb. Set the meter to ohms and probe each contact on the bulb to make sure your getting .02 or something in that range. This can also be done for fuses, and shorter lengths of wire than you feel may be broken.

Continuity, and its a function on any $10 multimeter. Just listen for the beep. No need to measure the resistance.

If the bulb doesn't have light but there is power,the bulb has the problem not the connections.
