Fog light question

So I noticed that my 99 SR5 was pre wired for fog lights. I also noticed that the fuse and relay were there. So i thought it would be as simple as installing fog lights and switch. Well I guess not.

So install the new switch. The lights, Brights, and turn signals work. Turn the fog and nothing. I check the fuse and its good. I try to check for voltage at the plug for the fog light and nothing.

Can anyone point me in the right direction where to start troubleshooting. I bought a test light and first time I try to use it the bulb blows. My luck right. All the help you can provide would be appreciated.

Are you absolutely positive there is a relay in the FOG position? My 02 sr5 was also pre-wired for fogs, but I had to install the switch and also a relay. It sounds weird that your truck would already have the relay when no fogs are wired.

Yes the relay is there. Is it possible that it could be bad and is there a way to test it?

i also have an 02 sr5 that was pre wired for fogs. I installed the fogs, relay, and switch and they turned right on. Id start by checking to see if your getting power at the fog light connectors and then go from there.

Yea I checked the plugs and no power. Need help where to start checking for power.

Are you using an oem switch on the column or are you using some other switch? Theres a write up on here on how to connect your fogs with a knock-out switch and the factory harness it involves splicing into your factory light stalk. Ill try and find it for you.

I would suspect a bad relay. Not sure how to test it, but if you have a multimeter maybe check for continuity at each prong.

Turned out to be a bad relay. It was $6.88 at advance. Thanks everyone for the input.
