Fog light question

Ok I’m pretty good at electrical , but these fog lights on moms 96 have humbled me
Some one had installed a aftermarket alarm which I removed it was some pretty hokey wiring . After ohm’ing out the wires checking for voltage checked the relay an I can hear & feel it clicking when I turn turn on the lights checked the fuse still nothing .whoever put the alarm has tied in to a wire under the dash so when I plug it in the switch lights up when u turn it on So I pulled the switch from my 97 and it is wired totally different unless it is all under the dash or something I didn’t have time to pull it apart but there is a red wire running in to the engine bay from the fog light switch I have no idea where it goes yet but I didn’t see the fuse or relay under the hood of the 97 , the 96 has them in plain site on the dr side inner fender well . Does anyone have any idea on this ???

If you press the switch and the relay clicks on (and stays on) it should be pretty easy to figure out could only be a few things:

- Bad bulbs - have you replaced one or both?

- Bad ground to both bulbs

- Supply fuse to relay blown (I think you said you checked this.)

- Could also be a bad relay but not too common unless there is water damage.

If you put a meter set to 12v dc across the 2 wires at one fog light bulb and test for voltage what do you get?

I’m putting in aftermarket fog lights I only have one soldered in right now
To the factory fog light wiring . I didn’t think they would share a ground but
I will try it this evening
