For sale: 1986 Toyota 4Runner 4x4, owned by a maintenance nut. I now have 4 cars with a 2-car garage, so my project car's gotta go.

why? then you couldn't fly out to buy it and get to try it out on some of the trails arizona, and utah have to offer on the way home!

Well, I don't fly and unfortunately have no time to drive it back. I have shipped my '85 from El Centro and that was such a pain that I don't think I'll ever do that again. Very nice rig though. I'd love to have it. I'd sell my '96 for that.

When I moved from LA to AZ, my relocation package (at my request) shipped my new (at that time) Honda prelude internally do protect it from rocks. IIRC, the company was called "horseless carriage." They did a great job. No idea how much it cost, but I'm sure it wasn't cheap, as all the other cars in the load were exotics. I know my local Lexus dealer ships cars out of state w/o issues.

The '85 I shipped was a big pain b.c it was lifted on big tires so it wouldn't fit on a normal rig. It had to be a hotshot type rig and therefore more expensive-around $1200. It was just a big hassle to line it up b/c they couldn't give an exact time of pickup or arrival. Basically it rode around on the truck all over the country before it got to me. It was all at the trucking company's convenience. Send me more pics to my e-mail-I'll pm it to you.
