When you getting them? You can always swap out for the BFG's and not be out much (down the road).

They'll be in Monday or Tuesday. I'll have them on same-day and get pics soon after.
I agree if I don't like them I'll cough up the extra $ and get BFG's, but I'm pretty sure they'll be great for what I want. Two reasons I don't like the BFG's, performance in mud and price.
Theses should (famous last words) clean out better in mud as they have a more open tread pattern. And they are hella lot cheaper.

Well, I was talking about the BFG Mud Terrains, not the A/T's. Let's try to meet up next week so I can check out the new shoes.

Sorry for my noob confusion, but there seems to be conflicting information here. MPG goes up, or down? I know it's minimal, but I'm trying to work out the mechanics and it seems to be it would go up, unless it's just that additional unsprung weight will force a minor hit (assuming the taller tire weighs a bit more).

Price is very nice. If you're considering the Nitto's, you should also look at the Hankooks I have. I was gonna get Nittos, but after speaking with a salesman I was sold on the Hanooks (they sell all different brands, so I trust his opinion). Then I get online and started reading reviews, the Hankooks have amazing reviews. The Nitto TG's have decent reviews but several comments on bad wear, which turned me away from them (that and they don't come in the 255/75.
As for gas mileage, I can't say yet. Let me first state that what I'm about to say is repitition of what I've read, not personal experience. When changing from stock 265/65/17 to 265/70/17, most people notice a .5-1 loss in gas mileage. When changing from stock 265/65/17 to 255/75/17, most do not see a change in gas mileage. Some who have went to the 255/75 even state their gas mileage increased a little (few tenths). I have the 255/75's, but I'm still on my first tank of gas with them. I'll report my personal experience once I get a few tanks ran through.

like ARK SWAMP RIDER says with this change from stock you will most likely see no change to slightly LESS MPG. bein a slightly narrower tire but taller it should cancel out any wheight addition in the SAME tire. Now if your going from the stock road tire to an all terrain or mud it WILL have extra rubber which is weight so this only works on SAME tire different sizes unless you actually weigh the tires. ALSO i believe the same MPG or slightly less as they are taller tires it takes more to get them rolling although you may see slight increase in highway MPG. unfortunatly its very hard to take what people say on the forum to heart as far as tire change MPG because most here dont seem to do the speedo fix or havent stated if they do or dont have one. this WILL fudge the numbers they get and on a 255/75/17 thats about 4.7-5% difference so take advice here wit a grain of salt.
hmmm thanks for the suggestion ill look into em i think id be happier with a more aggressive allterrain than a mud right now.
