This is Bleu, my 90lb Lab in a Large Ruff Tough. It is strapped to a homemade platform for additional storage underneath. I have the rear passenger seat "permanently" folded down to make this fit. He loves it and is a great product! Hope this helps.

Weimaraner owner here. We rescued her at 5 years old and we’re still working out a few issues, but in the year that we’ve had her shes beyond grown on us. Obviously hunting instincts strong with her breed and thats where most of our problems stem from when camping, hiking or trail riding with her but shes responding well to training. Obviously training a spotter breed from pup stage would be much better but we wouldn’t change a thing.

The rear window cracked about 1/4 down, a comfy dog bed and a good walk/run before a trip usually does the trick to keep her anxiety issues in check in the 4 Runner too.

He is a real road warrior. Lives out in Colorado, the mountain dog life.
Thousand mile trips are no big deal to him. Been a good one.

I have a 4yo German Shepard/ Lab - Kujo.

And until this week we had a 5yo Cane Corso who loved the car, as long as we didn't have to walk very far. Unfortunately she passed away, but I plan on getting another one soon.

My german shepherd couldn't love riding in the 4runner any more! every time I let her out she goes and sits right behind the car to jump in. Rides in the back window all the way down

Oliver, my 3 year old rott-heeler mix (an accidental designer dog from the pound as a stray) hates riding in any car, but he tolerates the 4Runner better than others because he loves the places we go in it.

My Chocolate Lab (Colt) is 21 Months. I don't know why he wines and barks, but every time I tell him to load, Boom he loads in his crate with excitement. With T4R running parked or not running and parked he's ok... but soon as I put it in Drive and start rolling he starts to bark, wine and pant uncontrollably. From a short ride to a long ride he does it in or out of his crate. But soon as I let him out to run his ass off he will be fine once back in his crate and driving again.
Same thing happens when sitting next to me in the pickup.
He road his first 7 months with me in my big rig and never did that.
It can get loud and irritating so I make sure I take my Bose headphones.

Sounds like he is a bit stressed out by the ride. My 7.5 month old Chocolate Lab also gets stressed out by riding in the car. He similarly whines and pants during the ride. None of my previous labs were stressed out by the car rides, so I am going to have to work on it.

Oliver the rottheeler is the same way - happy to jump in and all, but then pants the whole time we are moving, no matter how long the drive. At least he doesn't whine and bark!
