She's a 38lb. Heeler/Border Collie. Long, lean, and fits really well in there with plenty of extra space for longer drives. I have seen some people with up to 50lb dogs in this size (Intermediate).

Big dog! I think that the large size would still fit in the back of the 4Runner without issue. Definitely the safest route, piece of mind for me :thumb:

We call her "shorty" a lot because our late Weimaraner was so long limbed (and about 90 lbs of lean, mean muscle). I'd never have guessed her to be 60 lbs. To look at her you'd think she was 40 but she's relatively thick and dense.

I have found that the Chesapeake Bay retriever is a great choice for an all around dog. They love people ( read that family ) Loyal- protective- fun-hunt-very smart. They stay with you outside, love to swim. I can't see my life without one.

I also have a red setter, hunting comes first, must be on a lead at all times while outside or they will just go hunting. They need exercise, or they go crazy. very loving and will get in your lap.

Wrigley recently gained his Junior Hunter title in four out of four passes! Other talents include scissoring through all of my seat belts in the 3rd gen while waiting his turn at a training day for the dogs. That hell ain't gonna happen in the 2016 Trail we'll be getting this Spring.

Here is my rescue dog. We got her at 10 weeks, and shes 4 years old right now. She is a very intelligent and good looking dog. She's 60lbs of lean muscle, she loves to run and hike, but she hates to swim. Any thoughts on the breed?

Charlie, Floyd, and Eddie. Typical Beagles- hard headed and loyal as hell.







Floyd (Thyroid Disease so struggles with weight issues) has extensive training in SRT- Sofa Retrieval Technics. Unfortunately, during this mission he was STUCK and had to be rescued. True Story, LMAO.

FWIW, I read a report somewhere that stated that the DNA testing results from multiple sources were wildly divergent. (I suppose it depends on their available sample / database size etc.) So, the info you receive back may or may not be accurate.

I looked into it, but my guess is that our dog comes from a long line of mutts. So I think the results would probably be ambiguous.

Correct, it will not be accurate. They only can test right now for a limited amount of DNA identifiers, not enough to get an accurate reading. Get two kits, you will get two different results. They are improving the kits every year, where they have significantly increased the amount of markers they can identify, but they still have a long way to go to be reliable.

Fortunately, I'm already well aware that I'm a mutt and require no further evidence thereof. (The myopic supremacists will just have to deal with having a mongrel in their midst. :spy: Just don't refer to my mixed breed pooch as one. :lasercannon: )
