For those of you with WeatherTech floor liners

Since he liners are such a perfect fit that makes them not the easiest to get in and out of the 4R, so what do you do when you go to one of the car wash places that also vacuum your carpets?

This was my first time getting my truck washed after putting in the WeatherTechs so I told the attendant not to bother pulling out the front mats since they are kind of "locked" in place. I think he thought I was crazy, but they could never seem to put my other mats back in correctly so I didn't want them to even try with these.

And really there is no reason for them to even pull them out since nothing can get under liner and even reach the carpet.

Nope. Vacuum the carpet before you put them down and you really don't need to do it again. I pull mine up about once a year and just hit them with the vacuum cleaner at home. Never find anything under them when I do it...but I figure better safe than sorry. Honestly, I take them out just to make it a little easier to clean the liners themselves.

I find that the drivers side gets a bit crustier than the rest due to more use and lack of total coverage up by the pedals. I just pull'em all out anyhow at least once every 6-12 months and wash them down due to salt/dirt getting on them and vacuum all around. It's not super easy but it's easier than changing a timing belt!

Ditto, I whenever I go to the carwash they don't bother pulling the mats out b/c its so troublesome, also if forced out I'm worried the hook locks will pop out. Only thing that bothers me about the mats is that it is very obvious when they are dirty but a simple vacuuming and wiping down with a wet towel will take care of that. Same goes for the cargo mat, I wouldn't know what I'd do w/o that thing !

look at it this way, you get the save 3 dollars every car was not having to get the carpet vacuumed. I would just have them lift up the corners closest to the door and hit it real quick underneath. Since i mountain bike a lot and change in the car after races, i tend to get grass and mud everywhere and it gets under the outside corners of the mats. should be easy enough to get. If you think the front are hard, you should try taking the back ones in and out.

Unfortunately I don't save anything, vacuum and windows are part of all their wash packages. They vacuum the seats as well. They do a pretty thorough job.

I didn't get the rear floor liner but it does look pretty difficult.

The floor liner for the rear seats are a one piece design, great if you have kids or pets.

They do look like they protect well but in the 5 years I've had the truck exactly one person has sat in the back seat. I never even put in the Toyota All Weather Mats I had for the back.

I do have dogs but when they are in the car the seats are folded down.

I pull mine twice a year, and there is almost nothing underneath. Once in a while there might be a couple of grains of sand, but other than that, the carpets still look new (even with the mud/snow/sand of a New England winter).

Weathertech liners suck, they do not fit all that well, a ton of crap still gets in my floor, trust me & go with Husky...

Ok this I've gotta see. My WeatherTech liners are form fit and there is no way any dirt/snow/water is getting underneath them.

The Husky liners I used to have in my Ram didn't cover nearly as much or as well and I have major stains from the sill to where the liners used to start.

This thread show that Husky's cover more than Weathertech, especially in the front seat where that foot rest is at. Everytime I take out my mats to clean them I find all kinds of crap under them, it's starting to frustate me.

And in the back seat on the passenger side it sticks way up in the air, it's pretty bad. In the future I'll be going with Husky, when I get some cash and some other mods out of the way first, here's the thread:

Except for the foot rest area, I don't agree the Huskys have better coverage. But thats what makes America great, we have choices.

The Huskys I had in my Dodge were smooth plastic and were very slippery when wet. The diamond plate pattern really doesn't give much traction.
