For those who complain...

I actually put a deposit down on a Defender. Test drove it again-the back up camera stopped working when we parked it. Slept on it over the weekend and got my deposit back. I'm both very sad about this, and also very relieved. Those are for people who have a fleet-I need the same car to work everyday.

All this kinda funny.......the Defender is advertised as being tested all around the world in all kinds of climates to be the most durable vehicle they make......yet, their camera does not work while park at dealership under ideal weather conditions.

Or do they change color when oil splashes onto it due to leaking engine?

I think that's called fluid film, but yeah, the color changes are pretty cool.

It's kind of disappointing in a way, because as I understand it, the Defender is an attractive package at its essence. Never drove a Range Rover, and am a die-hard Toyota buyer, but I can appreciate other vehicles. But my number one attractor is quality, and I have difficulty respecting vehicles that break a lot.

Yeah, don’t get me wrong, i like the new Defender. Pretty good engineering specs on paper. You just assume that it would be amazing since it has been tested all around the world. But it fails at the most basic level.

And it is not really that new of platform...how is it that after all these years, they still cannot get the very basic right?!
