Alright guys, I have seen tons of threads talking about how the factory 3rd gen ecu will compensate for forced induction (up to a point of course). Such as when a stock pulley SC is bolted on, the ecu will compensate for fuel. This goes for turbo as well (forced Induction).
I had SC'd my 4Runner a couple months ago, ran about 6psi. I would see about 14.6-14.8 AFR at WOT. That doesn't seem like compensation to me. Since then I have sold the SC and currently going turbo.
Also, I have a buddy who just installed an engine bay mounted turbo and as soon as it sees ANY positive pressure it goes full lean and falls on it's face. No compensation.
Both vehicle had direct connections to the FPR.
Does anybody have any definitive knowledge on fuel compensation issues?
I've seen multiple cases of rear mount turbo guys just using colder plugs and premium fuel and seeing 11ish AFR at 7psi boost. (Clownmeat build).
Anybody notice this or find a solution to factory compensation without (7th/piggyback) added?
