I got into a debate here about out 4x4 Escape and said it has an auto 4x4 feature where it kicks when needed and it has a lock feature to lock front and back together and was told no by someone ( can't remember who ) that it still only drives the front but makes the back kick in faster when locked but still has the same driving characteristics.
WELL, NOT true ! Since we are getting rid of it I was out playing a little with the 4x4 system. I can put it in lock driving in a straight line (just like the 4R), BUT I can NOT turn the vehicle without severe binding(just like the 4R) if the diff. was locked on dry pavement.
Just wanted to clear the air on that one......
Also this week we hope to buy a awd/4x4 ?? whatever you call it 07 Rav4 V6 as soon as she decides on a color. She is looking at Silver or a Flint Mica Sport package .
