This is an old thread but…

I like to go run trails. Uwharrie is a blast and I also run a bunch of forest service roads in the mountains. I do a lot of Overlanding and adventure camping.

I don’t have a lot of trail intel in my area (Dunn/Erwin) just cause everything down here is private land.

I’m running a 2010 Trail with a 3.5” lift. I can get over or through just about anything I come across.

Hey, Wife and I just bought a 4runner with the intent of doing similar activities. Looking for a little guidance insight. Other than tires and pressure related tools, anything you *absolutely* need to get going (outside of camping equipment). Do you know any good resources I could thumb through about the parks. I've been to the websites and they are cumbersome. Hope you all are well.

YouTube is the best source of park information I’ve found. You can see the trails before you run them in most cases. I don’t have MaxTrax boards or anything like that, just camping gear and recovery gear. Even if you don’t need the gear to get yourself out of a bind you’ll often times have the opportunity to help someone else who doesn’t have the gear.
