Forum differences

This s the only forum Im a member of, but have heard many of you discuss yotatech and a couple others. What are the main differences in the forums? I have found this one to be extremely informative and usually avoids a lot of the spam and other junk.

I'm a member of almost all of them..

The differences are basically how 'hardcore' you want to get

This forum has a lot of beginner tech, and many almost stock vehicles

Yotatech is a step up, with bigger runners, and a more detailed tech.

Ultimate Yota has some sharp guys running around with really nice rigs.

TTORA Is Tacoma guys, but since most of the tech is the same, a lot carries over. The Tacoma guys usually get the most hardcore!

Ih8Mud is a bunch of land cruiser guys..

Pirate 4x4 is... well its Pirate 4x4.

Yotatech is also broader as it includes more than just 4runners. As this forum is dedicated to runners', it seems to have a little more info.

Hey hey now. lol. I'm a long time member of Mud and love that website as well as this one. I wouldn't say it's just a bunch of landcruiser guys since alot of them have owned other trucks or also own 4runners. That said I don't go there to learn much if anything about the 4runners. I hope to bring some of my limited knowledge from Mud to this site to bring about some new ideas from the members here.

i just got done checkin those forums out.

recap: t4r.org:trophy:

the other forums are a bit less organized then this forum i guess because there more boarder like runrunner said. i think im just gonna stick to this forum for now lol.. until she's lifted wit 265 bfgs lol

You don't see too many 20+ inch rimed street 4Runners on yotatech but this forum covers a bit broader fan base of the 4runner which is nice since and it caters to primarily 3rd gen on up 4Runners. You want more in depth mechanical advice on the classic years yotatech has alot of that but the big diff it's more of a Toyota truck site than a dedicated 4Runner site.

I like both since there's no such thing as too much information.

Flaming is at a minimum here, you can get away with alot more. just a lil more laid back than most others.

I'll have to agree with you CJ.......T4R.org is way more friendly! I'm not sure why, but I find that some of the Admins. from Yotatech have a chip on their shoulders, and I've had a couple of my threads deleted for really dumb reasons.

T4R all the way!

I had a few posts on YT deleted for a really dumb reason: I was right and the Mod was wrong! Grrrr....

Mud is a great resource. Just not for 4runner tech, everything else, they are really smart over there.

I heart IH8MUD. Learned a TON of stuff there when I had my 2 LC's, but this and Yotatech are the best resource for 4Runners but prefer to lurk here.

You want flamed, go to Pirate4x4.

This forum seems to have the most 4th gen related traffic. That being said, much of the code is broken and I don't like having ads between posts. I'd pay a montly fee to get rid of that.

T4R.org is to high school as YotaTech is to college.

You wanna post pictures of your truck with a fresh coat of paint on your wheels, do it here. But if you want an in-depth writeup on retrofitting an e-locker 3rd member, it's gonna be YotaTech.

Yota tech is more "red-neck" then this forum, And most 4runner guys like t4r better.

Redneck?? Really?

Good Analogy! Don't forget Expedition Portal.. there are some Runners lurking there too.

Yotatech has some great info, but is a lot harder to search on IMO because there are many different vehicles they cover and it takes time going through all the stuff that doesn't pertain to 4runners. Even when you type in "4runner" or "3rd gen idle problem" (or whatever your searching for), you get info for everything under the sun because somebody mentioned their 4runner somewhere within 100 posts on a thread about an '85 pickup's dome light. I usually just google and if it takes me to YT, I go there. Not to mention, YT is bigger so you get a lot of the same questions from people who just joined everyday like, "What kind of mpgs are you guys getting?" or the famous "Will these tires fit on my truck?" (of course with no information on the truck) haha.

True That! I like the t4r search engine a lot better, the "Advanced" is awesome. Just which there was more "action".. although wheeling a 3rd gen isn't all "that" common.

This is the best place for 4Runner info...

Since buying my '98 last month I joined all the Runner forums, TTORA, YT, Ult Toy, Exp Portal, etc.. I find this site the best because it's all about the 4unner (3rd Gen is my only interest) I really don't want much info on the other Toy 4x4's. So this forum has been my first stop every day and I'm even going thru old threads(new to me) over 500 on the 3rd Gen alone! It's helping me a lot with tons of great info.

The other sites do offer me valuable info also on things that will and can pertain to my 4Runner such as the Tundra brake upgrade, Tacoma skidplate and LC wheels/springs all the mods I want to eventually do. I'm glad there is a selection and several places to discuss our trucks and get to know other 4Runner fans.
