Found oil in spak plug well

I decided to change the plugs. A family member had the truck for the last few years and apparently someone did the plugs since there were new wires. I found the passenger front well had lot of oil on the wire portion and on the ceramic part of the plug. Other five were fine and the firing portion of all plugs were as expected. All of the plugs were not torqued to 13 ft lbs - closer to 5. Wondering if this wouldd cause it or is it valve cover gasket. Those are now leaking. Hoping it is one of these

It'll likely be your spark plug tube seal in the valve cover. they dry out same as the valve cover gaskets.

Just replace the tube seals when you do the valve cover gaskets. And if you go non-oem you might get to do them twice.

It's common (in my limited experience) to find the spark plugs on the looser side when removing even though I torqued them properly with a wrench when installing.

It could be a bad spark plug tube seal.

Time and many engine heat cycles made them fail, it's common.
Time to stock up in parts and do the VC gaskets. Spark plug tube seals should be done and the same time as VG's to avoid doing the VC job twice later on down the road.
