Found out how much my truck weights

5420. This is with the trunk packed right now for a trip. So give take some pounds. Doesn’t seem light lol. And I don’t have the fridge in with food or two gas cans filled and 2 water cans.

Occupants in it, if so how much did they weight combined? But yeah, occupants + cargo add up Really Fast. It's super easy to go past the Official GVCW rating on the drive door sticker.

If these were airplanes, there'd be many, many failed take-offs! Luck. :cowboy:

Lol. It was only me. As the driver. For the trip that I’m going on next week. Fridge is going in with food. Two 4gal gas cans will be filled and 2 5gal water tanks. Plus one passanger.

2016's vacation weighed out at 5460...over two weeks with me, backpacking, biking, bike rack and bikes, camping and wheeling equipment sure adds up on an armored truck. One of the upper rear control arm bolts broke that year, way too much weight.

Working hard to pare down on those long trips, so difficult, did much better with the weight last year. Surely the added front bumper helped.

Should I be worried about this weight ? Although my whole suspension has been refreshed with OEM parts. Rear control arms have been upgraded. Running OME 861 coils. And icon cdc all around.

Any time you're asking more of something than it's designed for....

My control arm was oe at the time (21 years old) as was the bolt that broke. While on the highway. THAT made a
NOISE!
Wasn't sure if the bang was from me or the semi I was passing. After it took me several days to figure out where the small occasional noise was coming from...talk about making me crazy especially as the bolt was still there and didn't look wrong.

Anyway, even more thought goes into packing than before, but it's still darned hard to keep the weight down on the big trip with all the stuff we do.
It is the only time I've had a suspension part failure on the annual funfest (knock on wood) except for the sway bar links, and those two fails happened during the off-roady parts.

Yeah, on daily I wouldn’t be driving around with all the stuff in the back. Just tools and few other things. Although I honk LOAD e Tires are the HEAVIEST on the truck. I wheeled pretty hard and it has help up good. I try not to be crazy though.
