I was following this thread, too, which I think you were in:

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/115116-v8-aftermarket-exhaust-manifold-4.html

I've read mixed reviews of Pacesetter. I'm just curious as to the quality of the manifolds next to the Toyota OEM part. Especially since the Toyota version is the one with the defects (cracking).

PS....if you look on ebay, either search 'pacesetter 4runner 2004' or 'pacesetter 4runner 2003' you'll get hits for them at around $285 delivered. Just make sure it's the V8 and not the V6. I'm not sure why they're $750 on that page.

Nice thanks I will definitely chech those out!

I was looking at the pictures and under my truck today and I have to say the (pacesetter) look more tubular and less restrictive then the OEM. Now i can also get the pacesetter cheaper then the (faulty) OEM. And because its not the faulty OEM at least its a real gamble.
with a 5yr warranty still a better bet then oem (known to fail and will again)

its a gamble but I think its in our favor (if you are the luck few who meet the year ranges 03-04 V8 & 03-09 V6)

I have 2 brand new OEM exhaust manifold/catalytic converter for sale if you guys don't want to take a chance on the pace setters. I'll let them go for cheaper that OE shipped. Just let me know what month your car came off the production line in that year because I have 2 different part numbers that supposedly fit the 04 year model (02-04 and 04-05)

I wonder if there is anyone on this forum that is using the pacesetters

I am curious....

Noise?
Extra power?/ better air flow?

I would also like to know if anyone has found a good replacement set of headers for the v6. I found these

Underdog Racing Development

but you need 2 catalytic converters and the piping to make that new. I am thinking about replacing mine because the cats are just about done.
