Fox Fabtech Coilovers

Need Advice guys. I found these Fox Fabtech coils for a good deal ($300 shipped fresh rebuild) and am wondering if I should get them or not. I have seen so many differnet view points on them. I need a new set up, up in the front but I don't want to waste money. If this is an honest to God good deal I could use the saving for the rear but if not I'll put up the money for something good this time.

If they're Fox's they should be good, and that seems like a good deal. Since they say Fabtech that's throwing me off though since I'm only familiar with them doing drop brackets, which would make me think they're coilovers meant for a huge lift which wouldn't work with a stock geometry setup.

It depends on what you're going to do with them. If you're looking at hardcore higher speed wheeling while carrying a bunch of gear then they will probably not be the best choice. If you're doing mild off-roading they'll do fine. Regardless they're much better than the stock setup. I ran them for 10+ years in my Tacoma, and the only time I had issues were when I was driving fast on bumpy desert trails as the shocks would start to fade and needed to cool off.

I have Bilstien shocks and ebaich coils. I really am not impressed with the ride quality or anything. They are far harsher then stock and do not give at all even with a new plate steel bumper. I want to get a nicer ride that will perform better and not be so rough. I just need to know I am not gonna make this mistake twice.

Then I think they will fit the bill just fine. I had them with an ARB and I thought the ride was great. If they're stiff you can always crank them down but you'll loose some lift. If they're still too stiff you should be able to get different springs for those coilovers too.

No I didn't not get these. I went with radflow 2.5" coils and 650 lb springs.
I believe they were tundras. All I really remember is they had 5 adjustable perches not just 3.

Get them! I picked up the same the exact same set a couple months ago for about $200. They need to be rebuilt, and that costs about $200 as well.

I believe they stopped making them a long time ago but you can find used sets on the forum classifieds and on craigslist occasionally...

As far as rebuilding goes I have found that Mirage racing rebuilds them:

But I contacted FOX and they said they will also rebuild them, the guy I spoke with sounded super stoned over the phone and wasn't able to provide me with any actual information but the vague numbers he threw out made it seem like it might be cheaper to just have fox rebuild them.
As far as I understand the rebuild process is quite simple and can be done easily at home with some basic tools.
Can you recommend a spanner wrench to use on these? the pair I bought came without the wrench.

I found them on craigslist or the forms classified section. Can't remember. It was a good deal, but from the info I found they weren't worth it. I had to much weight in the front and was only going to be adding more. Made sense to go with a better product instead of having to change again.

Mirage is who I planned on using for the rebuild. I think it'll end up costing about $350 by time it's all said and done with shipping.

I bought mine from a member on here who swapped out to Kings. He used them for a long time, and had nothing bad to say about them. Guess we'll find out though. This is the wrench that I bought.

I paid 150 for them used and put 80 bucks into rebuilding them(lower bushings, seals, oil) myself. I had never rebuilt suspension before so it was a learning process. But was really rewarding doing it myself. Now I just need to install my 8 wraps this weekend.

Ive been running mine for too weeks, major improvement over stock. Im running OME 890's in the rear. I wish i had gone with the 8 wraps instead...
