All I have to say is wow. Not only was it reasonably priced but its well built, looks great, and sounds sick! Here are some pictures of the installed system.

I will try to get some sound clips when I'm out tomorrow driving.

Yeah, you can definately tell theres more horsepower. Also, it seems to accelerate more smooth than the stock air system.

The Dyno sheet on www.framboost.com showed a horsepower gain of 11.2 vs. the performance K&N filter which was only like 9 horsepower.
 
Cutting a hole in the airbox will net 7-8whp and that's for free but properly done with the deckplate,MAF safe sealer and a few screws and you haven't hit $20. Add a proper hi flow drop in filter and you still should be under $60.

And it's loud too.:biggrin2:

The filter kits do look better when the hood is popped tho' but I'm a bang-for-your-buck guy (i.e. not rich) and that extra dough I saved went toward clear corner/signals since I needed cheap *bling* too. :p
 
the most id spend on a bling looking intake would be maybe 60 bucks.. 220? thats almost a spacer lift for you from Jason B. thats a lockrite in the rear from performanceoffroad. almost two CV axles and what not. that intake looks better then the KN one but I just dont think its worth the money since the firewall still doesnt bring in the airflow pattern like the deckplate would. the firewall needs to be pushed over towards the windsheild wiper fluid so it takes in from wheel well and headlight.

Thanks for the "good looking" compliment. I did look at K&N and they wanted $360 for their performance kit. I could have looked somewhere else but thats where the website pushed me to when I clicked "order".

As for being "not rich" I can relate. I dont have a job because of school and that $200 did set me back a bit.

As far as modding the stock airfilter system, I can't do that because technically my dad owns the truck till I'm out of the house so I would have to buy a whole new airbox to keep the stock one if I sold it.

I am still looking to buy a few modifications so hopefully I can get some suggestions on what to do next.
 
Nice choice, I am glad you like it and are having lots of fun! I believe your mod will bring some improvement to your truck and may save you some bucks! :D

That's the beauty of the deckplate is that with the plate in place it isn't even noticeable and the airbox is once again stock.
You can also remove the air elbow in the fender and get pretty much the same results but the deckplate cooler. :cool:
