Alot of the SoCal members are spread out all over, yet close enough to all meet up. Off the top of my head, maybe we can get:

You can bring them here for a year at a time, but they have to leave at the end of the year. You can get a LC70 here now too, but i'd rather have a Rover instead.

I did read about that, but it seemed far too inconvenient and expensive as I'm here for school. I love my LC70 and have driven plenty of Rovers (especially Defenders) that belong to my friends. They have an insanely stiff ride though, which I think might contribute to me getting osteoporosis at a much earlier age than anticipated. Hahaha. But they're awesome!

I did read about that, but it seemed far too inconvenient and expensive as I'm here for school. I love my LC70 and have driven plenty of Rovers (especially Defenders) that belong to my friends. Must be the newer ones, ive never driven an LC70, but ive driven a few UK spec 200tdi D90's and an american spec D90 and they were pretty soft, the series on the other hand is a rough ride, leafs at all 4 corners suck. Yeah, it would get expensive to ship it here for a year then getting it out of the country for a day, then bringing it back, maybe it could be feasible if bringing it into mexico would be acceptable instead of shipping it back to (england?) or OZ or whatever country you reside in.

I have family out in SoCal. Next time i'm up there, I"ll be sure to drive my rig up and go with you guys!

Yep, the new ones were pretty hard. And so were the very old ones, it seems like the ones in the middle were the ones that hit the spot! I'm actually from Malaysia (in South-East Asia, neighboring Thailand and Singapore). I would definitely think about it if I am planning to stay in the US for work, it's hard for foreigners to stay in this country. 4 years of school is not enough to explore the USA by road and dirt tracks.. haha

Most of the Landy's I've driver were old ones that were left by the previous British Empire that once occupied our country. We have LOTS of Defenders here, there's actually this video I saw about a couple of German guys who were travelling in their Defender throughout South East Asia. Their Landy had a bit of a problem and they were shocked to find out that the place they were at were OVERPOPULATED with Land Rovers.. hahah. Here it is!

Quick update: My headrest storage solution has arrived from [MENTION=89223]xcmtb83[/MENTION] ! They attach to the front headrest posts. They hold the second row headrests when the seats are folded and also act as a hand/grab-rail for the rear passengers! These are unpainted and they are definitely of good quality. For less than $30 shipped for a pair, these are a great for those who own an older 3rd gen without the headrest holders. Here's a pic of them. I will put them on tomorrow, and paint them to match my interior later.

Also, [MENTION=89223]xcmtb83[/MENTION] is a great guy to deal with. Fast and clear communication and shipping. Also, an ingenious product! I've always liked supporting 'homebrew' projects like this, like those on Kickstarter. Quick update:

Went to Big Bear Lake over the weekend. My family came here to visit me from our home country 9,000 miles away (and for shopping), and my younger siblings wanted to play with some snow although I live in LA. I had only just found out that we do indeed have snow here in SoCal. It still sounds rather silly but I'm excited as I have never seen snow before!

Had fun with the family, snow tubing, snow sledding, etc. My parents told me to return to LA on Sunday afternoon so that I could be ready for school tomorrow (on Monday, today). They stayed there for another night. I wasn't quite ready to leave just yet, so I made a detour to the local trails so I can get the 4Runner dirty.
