FREE Rocky Road Sliders - SR5 / LE

I sent a couple e-mails back and forth with the people from Rocky Road in regards to their sliders and if they will fit on an SR5 with NO modifications. I found this thread on our forum.

Page 1 shows them on a TE with no mods needed but page 2 shows that it looks like the owner had to removed the stock rocker panel for them to fit. They have not received any feedback from buyers indicating they had to remove anything for them to fit.

Long story short this is their quote to me from an e-mail.....

"If you know someone in the Salt Lake area who has an SR5 that can drop his vehicle at our shop for a couple days, we can give him a free set to test the fit and see what, if any issues may exist.

Post it on the forum maybe. Hopefully someone will be into a free set for loaning it a couple days. Only way we can tell you 100% for sure exactly what needs to be done for the fitting. Not hearing much back from guys ordering them..."

Obviously the SR5 & LE are the same trim, so if anyone wants some free sliders and you are in their area here is your chance!

Perfect, you are 'da man'! Hopefully they will be able to fab a set up that does not required any mods to our trim, if so, I will be placing my order ASAP!

Sliders without modifications would be nice... Post pics as soon as you get'em!

I was also thinking about a possible 2" Body Lift to make room for sliders... Getting a slight lift AND being able to fit sliders with no mod's might look good.

Anyone know how expensive it would be to do a body lift, and if that would even be a good idea for fitting sliders?

Probably not new but I did notice that rocky road lists an option or non-trail 5th gen super sliders now...

Good for LE/SR5 owners there are sliders made to accommodate the OEM rocker panels without modification, but you lose a lot of clearance with these even with a lift.

That looks like an SR5/LE with the stock rock panel still installed....correct? I think these might be them!

Yes. See what I mean.....might as well get running boards or nerf bars if they sit that low.

Well for those of us who don't do hardcore trails but want added protection, yet don't want to do any exterior mods.....these are perfect!

SR5 sliders

Geez you guys are fast. I just got my truck back at 9pm last night! Yes thats my SR5 with the newly designed supersliders that do NOT require modification of the rocker panels. I did loose a little ground clearance but this is my daily driver and I won't be going to moab very often..... When I do I'll be staying on the easier trails. I mentioned to Glen that he should change the design so that it doesn't require body modifications and the rest of us 'posers' with nonTE could still have sliders. I'll put more pics on once I get a lift and new tires.

Running boards or nerf bars won't protect the body like these sliders will. People with SR5/LE 4Runners have to make a sacrifice somewhere because of the extra trim: they either lose even more ground clearance, or they lose the "factory" look when they ditch the trim pieces, or they sacrifice protection and skip installing anything between the wheels.

At least Rocky Road Outfitters offer people a choice that doesn't require cutting the trim or removing it altogether.

I agree. Unfortunately as LE/SR5 owners, we do have to make compromises. Mine was to trim the rockers to keep the fsctory look but maintain as much clearance as possible. Kudos to RR for making these an option for us.

Would it be possible to get some more/better pics of them installed? I'd really like to see how much they stick out to judge if they can be used for a step for the GF to get in and out.
