Friend trying to sign up but it won't let him post? How can we fix?

From a friend of mine that tried to sign up. I'm trying to help him but no matter what he does it says this:

Cloud9, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

You haven't reached a preset number of posts (replies) before you are allowed to start a new thread
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
Can you do anything to help him?

All, he is going is trying to REPLY to a post, etc.

Possible answer

When I attempt to click New Thread I receive the same message with the #1 highlighted in red, it indicates that you need to post a specific amount of times before the admins will let you start posting a new thread. This is to alleviate the spammers, bots, and trolls out there. I hope that this helps

mine says that also. I wanted to ask a question about a 97 4runner because I'm not too familiar with 4runners or trucks in general. I'm a longtime lurker turned member lol.

This issue with him is, he can't even REPLY, same error. So, no replying at all..... hmm.

I think in theory you can only reply to threads here in this New Members area if less than 15 posts. Once you have more than 15 you can start new threads in this area.

I had the same issue, signed up under a different email and it worked.

Did he respond to the email? It got sent to my spam folder. Once I found it I could reply to threads

I'm having the same issue. At what point is a member given permission to start a new posting? I wish to inquire about an unidentified vacuum port on a 2002. Thank you.

I can't post a new thread even in this section either, longtime lurker, just signed up this morning. A chipmunk decided to crawl up into my engine bay, munch on a potato he found somewhere, chew some firewall foam and a injector wire to make a nest. All because I parked it outside the past few days, bought new in 2016 too. :cry2: Does anyone know the gauge of wire going to the injectors (18-20ga looks like), and what I can spray on the exposed engine bay firewall foam (harder waterproof black stuff was eaten off)? I'm pissed.
