I am not really a new member. I was a member for many years. But, it had been quite a few years since I last posted. I am not sure what happened. The website remembered my email and old user name. I had to reset my password. Now I'm stuck with all the newbies having to make 15 replies before I can post a new thread. I'm the original owner of a 2001 Limited 4WD with TRD supercharger - it was installed 21 years ago! When gas was around $1 a gallon. I was in a rollover accident back in November. We decided to keep her because all the damage was on the drivers side - there was no damage to the engine area. Most repair shops wanted to use new toyota part. That was just not possible with our budget. We found one shop to do the repairs. The only part they replaced was the mirror on the driver side. They could not find one with the heated thing so we went with the SR5 mirror. We live in Florida so really it's fine. Also had it painted, and the guy put on nice new pinstripes. We needed a few mechanical things, so got new tie rods (and alignment) and valve cover gasket. Have had the ABS and VSC lights on for around 8 years. We didn't get the ABS repaired. Too much $ and no guarantee it would even fix the problem. Just prior to inspection I took apart the dash and crushed the bulbs for ABS and VSC. Probably should have done that years ago.
