Frnt Shimmy during braking at high speeds (60-70 mph)

Before everyone jump on the warped rotor sydrome, I will try my best to be as detail as possible to rule this scenario.

1) Replaced Rear drums and pads
2) Completed the Tundra brake upgrade.

Prior to the upgrade, the car was exhibiting this issue. Rotors has ess than 100 miles on it and done the proper brake in and torque down. There is no pulsation to the brake pedal when depressing it but the steering wheels does shake. Got new tires and wheel alignment done as well which was present before the this was done as well.

when was the last time you got your tire balance?

check your wheel bearings and steering rack for play. Any slight warp in your rotors will be magnafied by the play in your front end. Alot of the 3rd gen taco's and 4runners develop play in the steering racks on the left side internally

The easiest way to fix this problem, Dont brake at high speeds! Or you could also supplement your braking with the E brake. Just a thought. :biggrin2:

Why pull the ebrake while braking?? Besides the fact the rear brakes are working anyways when you brake, pulling the ebrake will only warp your drums and wear your rear shoes faster

I will be taking it to a shop im Mountain View, CA to further diagnose it.

Well everyone, found a Firestone that had a Hunter balancer and 90% correct the shiming issue. There are very minimal shimming during braking and not the normal warped rotor symptoms. I think it is either a bushing, alignment, wheel bearing, or steering rack issue. Will have it professionally checked on Wed.

It has been resolved: wheel balanced by the dealer.
