She could've easily upped the trucks value if she knew what she had under the hood...That's a sweet steal. congrats!
 
Even with the botched SC repair, you got a steal. Trade me that sorry supercharger for my much more efficient intake manifold straight up and you STILL got a great deal. You cannot touch a 4x4 4runner here with those miles for that price. That's 4-cyl 2x4 money!
 
Not quite a "steal" if you have to put $4K into repairing it though. Did you even bother having a mechanic check it out? Did you do a compression check/dyno on it? You have to be leery of any used car that has a SC/turbo in it - often they are more work than they are worth.

I dont want to rain on your parade but the reason the seller may not have mentioned the Super Charger is becasue it is a common belief that SC's beat the sh-t out of engines, frequently resulting in blown head gaskets, etc. They are great for the race track or for the guy without a budget though.

I humbly sugest if you want to get a lot of miles out of your engine = take the SC off.

Maybe start a thread asking how many miles other owners have on their T4R with a Super Charger? Sort of take a survey? I could be wrong, but I dont think I am.

Great looking T4R and a really good buy though - congrats!
 
finally decided to update this thread..

Since owning the tuck, I have had ZERO issues with it. I put about 4500 miles on it already and I cant be any happier with how it has treated me

Only changes I have made since my last post is:

231mm Tundra Calipers and rotors
ISR Mod
Deckplate Mod
Hiding most of the chrome using plasti dip.
Adding a pioneer head unit w/ bluetooth
CB radio with a PA system

oh **** i have seen that car before i know where you Work! You work at Vis Racing! im such a stalker haha. your cresida always gets my attention when i pass by on gale you sir are one of the originators in the us for the bosoku styling be proud of it. i actually work very close to your work actually. i work For APR Performance. nice to see another local with a 4runner. i see that you also have done the tundra brake upgrade maybe one of these days if you dont mind i wanted to try to see if i could check to see if my wheels clear the caliper as my wheels are -3 offset and are pretty close to my original calipers as is. i would hate to do the swap and find out my wheels dont fit over those nice calipers. im not sure if you have seen me around the area but i drive the green one that romes the area. if you ever get a chance stop by my work and say hello. im sure i will do the same! see you around!

LOL. Seriously? The last time I checked, I drove a 4runner, not a $100,000 show car. If any or little dust gets in my engine bay, it will come up from underneath and through the grill firstjust like every other 4runner out there. So Gay

Whoa, I actually havnt even seen you around or even know APR was that close. haha

haha i remember when you guys were back on San Jose near the corner of Nogalas. Tak told me you guys moved to a new location closer to us and i was like damn you guys are really close. you guys are actually next door to the old seibon location too. but im sure you guys already knew that.lol. Sebonj moves away from us all the way down to gale and bixby any you guys move closer to us haha. well ill see you around the name is Tony BTW.

Clearly, I could see the ruggedness reflecting off your carbon fiber. Just stating the obvious in that an open scoop does nothing but collect more dirt. Toyota made the stock scoops closed for a reason.


Now, I do like everything else you have done though. In making the vehicle more safe and enjoyable to drive and whatnot.
 
I'm liking the Carbon Fibre too! It's great when you can reduce some weight off the truck...IMO.....

Any other plans for the truck??? Planning on lifting it??
