From the Rail to My Dealer?

My local dealer a while back found a way to procure me an ORP ,for which, I've been waiting several weeks for. The salesman has a tracking system he's been sharing with me. We've tracked it from when it landed at port, to the rail system. Now its in Kansas City waiting to be put on a truck and delivered about 200 miles south to where my dealership is. Question is: How long will it take for my T4R to make it from KC to my dealership now that its off the rail line?

Longer than it should I’m sure.

And they will blame Covid, inflation, gas prices, Russia, lack of employees, limited truck driver hours, and any other number of excuses that are forced upon us as acceptable these days.

There has been a shortage to truck drivers since the pandemic started (valid reasons). Thus, it is hard to predict the exact time frame.

As a point of reference, last summer it took about a month for my Kentucky built RAV4 hybrid to get to my dealer in Utah from the build date to delivery date. That included whatever rail and truck time there was.

My guess would be about two weeks.

The only close estimation you’ll get is whatever is shown in DealerDaily. Too many variables especially with current transportation and logistics shortcomings. It could be a week, it could be two. It could be different if Cincinnati region vs Mountain region.

It came in today. That was about 5-7 days!

Lucky you could track it. My Canadian dealer says they have no way of knowing where it is. Still saying mid May...
