Front Axles - CV Boots

So, I'm getting my oil changed today and I find out that my CV boot has been leaking oil and they say my axles need to be replaced (85K miles). Two questions:
1. Is that right
2. Are there good aftermarket options or should I just replace them with stock replacements?

It's going to have the Toytec BOSS lift and 32's if that makes a difference.

lots of threads on this topic so google will be your friend to formulate your own opinion...

if the boot is ripped then you'll need to either reboot while squirting in some new grease to your existing cv or install a new CV..
many DIY threads and even youtube videos on this topic...

If I ever have to replace a cv it'll be with CVJ remans...

good luck.

Sorry for not using search, but looks like I'm going with CVJ. Called them today and I'm going to order tomorrow. Thanks for the info.

I could be wrong but a leak is not an indicator for axle replacement. Torn boot, maybe, due to similar lessor cost and similar parts cost.

So if not too late, reband the leaking CV boot, add grease if you want, probably you are OK.

Google a little, always!

If you already have the lift make sure you look up the "boot slide mod" you will have to do this after you install the axles, I know I did
