Front Brake Rattle after Brake Job? Check this!

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but could you walk me through replacing this clip? Kind of a brake noob and haven't found a thread that specifies how to do this. Thanks!

I have this problem front and rear with new calipers and NAPA pads too. Not a huge deal IMO but good to know there is a fix. And yes, my OEM pads rattled around when I had a frozen caliper as well, but that is a different story

An oldie but a goodie! Not sure why they were missing on my truck but it probably has something to do with a 1-beer job turning into more than one.


Adding the clip back in is super easy with no bolts to remove...

Just pull the wheel off and on the caliper, you'll see 2 pins (top and bottom). Remove the little retaining clip from the bottom pin and pull it out. Squeeze the spring in there and slide the pin back in. There are "tabs" on the side of the spring... those should rest on the top of the brake pad and the ends of the spring should be secure in the brake pad "holes".
