Front Bump Stops - Stupid Question

Stupid question here (yes I searched) but I managed to snap off the drivers side front bump stop and I ordered a new one. However, after removing the broken half of the stud the new one won't screw into place, just slides into the mounting hole with no resistances.

What am I missing here? Yes, I order the correct bump stop. I thought the nut was welded to the underside of the mounting hole.

Any harm with not running the front bump stops?

Check if the nut is still there, I actually had the nut that my passenger seat bolts into rip off just from me tightening the seat down too hard. I bet its gone, but you should be able to weld a new one in, if you can't get to it easily, weld the but to a plate then weld that plate into the frame.

Looking at it again this morning both nuts somehow got ripped off. So I'm not sure what the best course of action would be now.

I don't see how you could reweld the nuts since they are welded to the inside of LCA and there's really no way to access the inside of it. I'm thinking of either trying to drill a hole on the underside of the control arm and just install a nut or do the expensive thing and buy a new LCA.

Get some rivet-nuts to match the thread & pitch of your bolt. You can get them from McMaster-Carr at a decent price.

I think they'd hold up pretty well to be honest.

Well, the rivet nut is a no go. The thread on the bump stops is a M10x1.25 and they only sell M8x1.25 or M10x1.5
